THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation Engineering District 9 is seeking to fill a permanent, full-time Engineering Technician position. This is a one year trainee program in road inspection for heavy/regular hauling, bonded roads, and Marcellus Shale. Join the PennDOT District 9 team with this exciting career opportunity!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As Engineering Technician in the Permit unit, you will provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Communicate in an effective manner with the public, co-workers, supervision and other District Units. Be proactive in learning and implementing new systems and technologies as required. This is your opportunity to invest in your future!
This position will be assigned to projects primarily in Bedford and Fulton Counties. Incumbent may assist with projects in Blair, Cambria, Huntingdon, or Somerset if needed.

Work Hours and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM; 30 minute lunch.
Schedule is subject to change due to contractor/vendor work schedule requirements.
Overtime may be required.
Travel may be required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: An associate’s degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
