The North East Lincolnshire Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) will ensure Children and Young People (CYP) access the right early help, in the right setting removing duplication and preventing CYP/families being ‘bounced’ in-between services.
The service will support CYP and families providing extra capacity for early intervention support within school and college settings. The three core elements that the MHSTS will provide are:
The service will develop innovative methods to make a real difference to the lives of young people in North East Lincolnshire.
The role of Education Mental Health Practitioners is to deliver short term low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) informed interventions for children and young people aged 5 -19 years with anxiety, low mood, common challenging behaviours, family and peer relationship difficulties, difficulty adjusting to change and transition or difficulty managing emotions in educational settings.
EMHPs will also work with Designated Mental Health Leads and other educational staff to build on and develop evidenced-based Whole School Approaches.
