Our Digital Foundry team is part of Computershare’s Technology Services (CTS). The Digital Foundry’s purpose is to provide Computershare’s global businesses and their customers with the ability to accomplish what they set out to do in alignment with enterprise priorities. A role you will love

This role will report to the Head of Engineering, as the Software Engineer Lead you will be supporting the Delivery Teams and help drive DevOps practices within the Digital Foundry team with a focus on Cloud enablement and IaC. Your main deliverable is to assist our CX/UX with experiments all the way through to production launches of multi-region products and working to manage our builds, pipelines, compute, and storage. You will be directly responsible for 4-5 Software Engineers and work collaboratively with the other Engineering leadership roles to help deliver amazing outcomes to our business.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• You don’t mind getting your hands dirty when needed. Walk the talk! Show the engineers how it is done for your area of specialty/interest.
• Facilitate/coordinate coaching, mentoring, training, and professional development programs within the group.
• Participate, and encourage team participation, in learning and development activities including industry updates, “lunch and learn” sessions, formal mentoring and formal training opportunities.
• Build and promote a highly performing, engaged and energic team environment
• Create professional development plans; creation and tracking of progress
• Contribute to the improvement of the Development capability; drive the maturation of Software/Solution Engineering as a valued discipline in the Digital Foundry and the other Computershare businesses.
• Assist with building key parts of our pipeline and future capabilities
• Contribute to research and technology strategy/choices

What will you bring to the role?

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Lead Software Engineer with exposure to managing/mentoring Engineers and is invested in driving the team to success and growth. If you have a true passion for all stages of software development, building to industry best practice; actively coaching and developing others around you to achieve those standards. We want to hear from you!

Key skills required include:

• 4+ years in Software engineering broadly
• Directly supervised or manage others, & provided support and guidance to members of a team as a Team Lead or demonstratable mentoring of Engineers
• Solid understanding of Software Engineering practices and an understanding of current best practices.
• Demonstratable understanding of how the wider team works together to successfully deliver products and platforms to our customers
• Good attention to detail and some evaluative judgment based on best practice and previous experience.
• Strong work ethic and high levels of problem-solving skills with ability to deal with conflicting priorities and overcoming issues
• Collaborates and communicates well, builds great working relationships, and can deal well with challenges
• Tertiary qualifications in Technology or similar/relevant certifications
• Experience creating and executing professional development plans
• Experience creating/contributing to educational/skill development materials
• Experience creating & documenting solution architectures
• Experience developing in a modern software language C#/Java/Ruby etc
• Experience with build pipeline tools (TeamCity; Octopus; Azure DevOps etc)
• Strong problem solving, analytical thinking and teamwork skills

Desired Skills (but not essential):

• Experience/exposure within the following technologies would be great, but isn’t necessary: React, Redux and TypeScript, Gatsby and GraphQL, C#, .Net Core, and MSSQL, Azure DevOps and broader Azure Cloud services
