The Technical Writer/Editor position will be responsible for the following duties:
Edits technical, business, and informational materials, including reports, brochures, presentations, and articles about diverse topics such as engineering, information technology, safety, and security.
Writes business and communications products.
Works with management, project leads, authors, and subject matter experts to establish schedules and project outcomes.
Coordinates work from other functions including electronic publishing, graphic arts, photography, reproduction, and classification.
Ensures standards and quality assurance requirements are met.

Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communications, Journalism, Communications or in a scientific or technical field with demonstrated writing and editing experience.
Or Master’s degree.
Or 8 or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
Preferred Job Requirements
Strong MS Office skills, particularly styles in Word. Other desirable skills include oral and written communication, and planning.
Knowledge of writing and editing standards and practices. Familiarity or experience with style manuals (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Associated Press).

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
