About the organisation:

This is a medium sized organisation (200 px) which is privately held and has ambitious goals for the future. Operating within the retail space, it has a well recognised brand and a reputation for quality and service.

The organisation is seeking an additional board member as part of its director tenure programme. With a board of 4 independent directors – you’ll enjoy being a part of a team who are motivated to support and mentor the CEO and the organisation to evolve the next chapters in the organisation’s story and legacy.

Your Profile:

Ideally, you already have governance experience, especially within the commercial sector. While there is already a good blend of experience and knowledge within the board, we are seeking a Director who has specific experience and expertise in technology and change management. As a change and technology subject matter expert, you’ll provide strength to the board and the organisation to deliver on commercial and experiential goals.

Your skills and previous experience likely involves:

• Well developed business and commercial acumen. Change is in your DNA and you’ve got loads of knowledge in this space.
• Strong technology skills and experience, especially in relation to enhancing organisational process and commercial delivery.
• Governance experience. You’ve likely completed the IOD Company Directors course (or similar) and will have a keen interest in governance excellence.
• Strong financial acumen and the ability to interpret financial reports for commercial discussion.
• Experience in strategy development, the ability to strategically think as well as to challenge thought processes.
• A strong interest in providing expertise and capability, to work constructively with the CEO and senior management to deliver on strategic objectives and the ability to work within a board environment that is highly motivated.

This will be a two year term, and a commitment of monthly board meetings (as well as time for preparation).
