The Role

Our New Zealand Operations team requires a motivated individual based in Auckland to ensure the continued exceptional delivery, service and management of key Convergint projects.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing and coordinating various aspects of small to large projects of moderate complexity from award to completion, overseeing overall site management and preparing project installation plans and job procedures to ensure successful and timely completion within budget as required by the contract.
• Translating diverse customer needs into detailed proposals and implementation plans, supervising project design engineering, installation labour, and subcontractors, providing technical assistance to the sales force, and reviewing/approving estimated costs prior to bid.
• Reviewing and managing the execution of all scope of works with detailed liaison with the Sales/Account managers designs, terms and conditions in customer contracts including cost control, delivery fulfilment, and quality of service and other customer requirements as they arise.
• Effectively communicating project requirements to the project team and management. Maintaining accurate and up to date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing internal and external reports.
• Coordinating the procurement of materials, supplies, and services necessary for timely, qualitative, and cost-effective completion of projects within budget.
• Establishing project milestones and analysing costs; Exposure to financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job cost and provide timely and accurate project cost reports; adjusts or corrects project plan and/or project cost estimates as necessary to meet financial goals.

To be successful in the role you will need to have:

• Demonstrated understanding of project management concepts and methods (Preferred certificate supported course completion)
• Strong knowledge of written and digital project management tools.

• Excellent communication skills – ability to prepare effective written communications.
• Attention to detail – ability to manage, review documents, procedures, reports to identify issues/errors and opportunity.

• Proactive, ability to work on own initiative.
• Strong financial analytical skills including cost control
• Willingness to take ownership of the role and take initiative and learn new tasks.
• Adaptability – respond effectively to changes in situations or new information, be open and willing to learn new things and take on new challenges

Requirements:

• Minimum of three years of previous, relevant engineering, field service or project management experience preferred.
• Project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems, electronic security systems).
