About IT at TfNSW
TfNSW’s IT group provides the tools, information and services that enable 30,000 employees to deliver a smart and efficient transport network. The opportunity
Right now, we have an opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Innovation and Capability team. The role delivers working and reliable data and software components, continuously developing and assessing the systems to keep abreast of new technologies and applying this knowledge to new and existing related systems to meet organisational objectives.
Your key accountabilities are
- Deliver technical expertise, to a diverse range of stakeholders, to support the operation of Transport applications, including providing technical support.
- Influence and deliver quality software for software projects by undertaking all aspects of the software development life cycle to meet development stream objectives.
- Analyse and translate both functional and non-functional user requirements to convert and create quality software design and system specifications.
- Contribute and develop quality software by creating software feature design specifications to deliver quality software solutions.
- Conduct verification, debugging and testing in a local environment to deliver stable and functional software that performs to documented requirements.
- Maintain accurate system bug tracking data and all related systems documents to monitor their compliance to agreed quality standards.
- Undertake appropriate testing, using suitable tools for diagnosing and rectifying issues, and support application software releases and development updates to guarantee performance, functionality and reliability objectives are met.
About you
- Delivering against a program of work within a defined timeline while accommodating changes in priorities and scope.
- Addressing and resolving frequently occurring problems and complex technical issues and developing innovative solutions that may require the application of new problem-solving techniques and approaches.
- Experience in building emerging technology proof of concepts.
- Broad wide ranging Development experience specifically through the lens of innovation and emerging technologies.
- Exposure to Data Development and Platform Development.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($138,670- $155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
