As a member of the GPD PW team, the Research Assistant will be in charge of a daily review and update of seed inventory for all TI crops and projects making sure to comply with company policies. He/she will also support the rest of seed counting activities such as planting preparation and harvest assign as well as field/laboratory and greenhouse activities. The Research Assistant will perform computer work and assists leading part-time personnel.

Responsibilities

Perform inventory conciliations twice a year.
Participate in internal and external inventory audits when necessary.
Process seed returns timely after plantings.
Timely solution and update of recurrent parent duplicates.
Process seed shipments for all crops within the establish timelines.
Create and follow up of seed requests for base replenishments or any other needed seed through the systems.
Assist Research Associate in training and leading part time personnel. Keeps employees motivated. Promote safety, accuracy and efficiency on the performance of all tasks.
Assist Research Associate in following up mandatory trainings are completed on time.
Manage multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain effective communication with group members and other appropriate teams or individuals within the company.
Contribute to the success of GPD and the overall success of the Puerto Rico Research Center by promoting positive work attitude among employees, making sure safety protocols are followed and assisting other projects when necessary.
Ensure compliance on all assigned tasks.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required
Ability to enter data into a computer is required.
Familiar with Microsoft Office programs
Willing and able to lift 50lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
Willing and able to work shift work
Ability to lead part-time labor is required.
Ability to understand written English is desired.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
