Costco NZ Hiring for Meat/Seafood Department Assistant – Wrapper & Packer Job at Auckland Full Time

Daily tasks and responsibilities:

As a Meat/Seafood Department Assistant, you will assist in the daily operations of the department. This will require you to assist in maintaining the operational standards of safety and quality while supporting a large team of qualified Butchers. You will be required to deliver superior member service. Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Inspects and assembles equipment during department setup.
• Work display case and rotates merchandise to high standards.
• Processes large quantities of product using automatic wrapping machine.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Labels merchandise, and puts wrapped and labelled merchandise in display case.
• Operates meat grinder. Follows proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished merchandise.
• Cleans and sanitizes area throughout the day. Performs duties to comply with health code.
• Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidlines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment requred.
• Complies with the 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification and all Safety Policies required by the warehouse and the department.
• Assists in other departments for the warehouse as necessary.
• Provides and ensures prompt and courteous service to members, employees and vendors.

• Please note that this position is a cleaning/wrapping position. Ability to lift heavy items routinely and ability to work closing shift is essential.

Qualifications (Costco specific or industry-specific skills that candidates should possess):

• 
  Experience Food handling experience preferred.
• 
  Knowledge/Skills: Customer service or comparable.
