The contract for this position is estimated to be from May 1, 2022 – December 15, 2022. The length of contract may change due to operational needs.
Position Requirements:
Working in a team environment to accomplish all tasks.
Physically able to lift & maneuver ~50 pounds of equipment/sensors on & off aircraft. (dollies/hand trucks)
Able & willing to travel/work under demanding, dynamic work times & conditions/environment, 24-hour operations.
Always remain courteous with employees of OCFA, CAUSA, USFS, CalFire, invited guests, as well as the public.
Demonstrate strong work ethic and professionalism expected of all CAUSA employees.
Perform other duties as assigned by the PICs, HLCOs and other designated personnel.
The ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds.
A friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
Good communication and people skills in written and oral.
Skill/Technical Requirements: Evaluations will be conducted during interviews for the below required skill set.
Demonstrate working knowledge of/understand GIS, Remote Sensing, Cartography.
Proficiency in computer software applications including: MS Office suite, Adobe DC and simple video editing software.
Familiarity with current remote sensing & GPS data capture software/hardware.
Working knowledge of current aerial communication systems, (LTE, SAT, Mesh, First Net).
Familiarity with PC and IOS based computers.
Prior experience using a variety of Sensors to include FLIR, MX and other systems.
Technical abilities to troubleshoot/maintain complex sensor & data acquisition computer systems in stressful time sensitive situations.
Prior operational hours in airborne aircraft preferred.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications: (not required to be considered)
Greater than 2-years’ experience operating airborne remote sensing cameras or sensors
Experience with multi-sensor payload engineering and integration.
Exposure and use of CarteNav AIMS-HD, Shotover, and other basic GIS applications (ESRI/QGIS).
Basic understanding of Electro-Optical Sensors and theory.
Experience in Wildland Fire Operations and unique aspects of those operations.
Experience with use/management/creation of GIS datasets and interagency data portals.
