At CountdownX we’ve just completed a large scale operating model review as we accelerate our ambition to create highly personalised, seamless and connected experiences for our customers. Within this context, we’re looking for a Data Analyst here in Aotearoa reporting to our Data Engineering Lead.
As a Data Analyst, your role is to work alongside a business focused team of data engineers and insights analysts to bridge the data knowledge gap.
Day to day, you will support Insight Analysts with data investigation activities. You will be responding to data related questions. You will source the right or even new data that they need for their projects. You will help analysts to write the high performing SQL queries that produce consistent results for their insights work.

Bridge the data knowledge gap between Insights Analysts and Data Engineers
Provide ad hoc SQL support to Insight Analysts
Create high quality documentation of the data environment
Creation of data flow diagrams to support the development of new data pipelines.
Source the right data sets for insights tools and products
Investigate new data sets for the data ingestion
Undertake data profiling to determine whether data quality is sufficient.
Undertake data solution testing and data reconciliation activities.
Support Data Engineering Chapter Lead with documentation of new process and patterns
Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt in data engineering legacy environments
About You | Mōu
To succeed in this role you will have:
Strong SQL coding experience
Experience working databases, DB queries,
Ability to manipulate data
Experience of working in cross functional teams within an agile delivery framework
Experience in Data Conversion/Migration Projects
Experience working with Jira, Confluence and Lucid
Excellent collaboration
Clear communication skills both oral and written
Very detail oriented and patient.
Ability to work quickly
Curiosity and a desire to raise the bar.
