Coventry University Group has achieved sustained growth in apprenticeships over the past 5 years, with around 3000 learners now undertaking one of over forty apprenticeship programmes. The opportunities within the apprenticeship space are immense, and a key ambition in the Group’s 2030 strategy is to increase the apprenticeship portfolio.
From September 2022 a sister company, CU Apprenticeships (Better Futures) Limited, was launched to provide focus and innovative approaches to expand the delivery of apprenticeships on behalf of the University Group. The CU Apprenticeships team are responsible for managing, administering, and developing apprenticeship provision across the entire University Group, driving quality and growth.
The role
The three new manager roles of Apprenticeship Academic Cluster Lead are being introduced to hold the management responsibility for a number of apprenticeship programmes in specific sector clusters. These roles will ensure these programmes run in an efficient high-quality mode, to give the best outcomes for learners and our employer partners. Reporting to the Head of Apprenticeships (Academic), the post holders will be expected to work with relevant stakeholders internally and externally to suggest new programme developments that positively impact outcomes and financial sustainability.
Our Successful Candidate
These roles will require extensive experience of both management and teaching within the higher education sector, with experience of these gained from an apprenticeship setting being advantageous. Knowledge of the management of curriculum development as well as experience of efficient and effective planning and deployment of resources will also be required.
Based on one of our three UK campus’s (Coventry, London, or Scarborough) the working hours for this role are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. This role is eligible for our Agile Working policy once inducted and embedded in the role. Due to the nature of this role, the flexibility to travel occasionally between our campuses will be required.
