Craigs Investment Partners Looking for Assistant Accountant at Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand Full Time

A rare and exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team, based at our Head Office in Tauranga. This is a permanent full-time role, reporting to the Financial Controller. This role will assist in the preparation of timely and accurate internal and external financial statements for the wider Craigs Investment Partners group and associated companies. The position is also responsible for completion and filing of IRD returns as well as providing cover for other Finance Team positions.

About The Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of Craigs Investment Partners (CIP) monthly and annual accounts within pre-specified timeframes. Key areas of responsibility include accounting for debtors, fixed assets and CIP principal positions, among others.

• Timely preparation of various subsidiary and associated company monthly and annual accounts.
• Provide assistance with the annual budgeting process.
• Completion of IRD returns (RWT/NRWT/FBT/GST) for various group and associated entities.
• Assist the Financial Accountants as required.
• Provide cover for other Finance roles as required.

About You

This role will suit a finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and in a high-performing and cohesive team, at a growing company. The successful candidate will be confident, have good attention to detail and is a team player.

Suitable candidates will have relevant experience in a similar role, and possess the following:

• Tertiary qualification in a finance or business-related discipline, or at least five years’ experience in a similar position
• Chartered Accountant (CA) membership with CAANZ, or training towards a Chartered Accountant (desirable)
• Previous experience in a similar position
• Previous experience in a financial services business (desirable)
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient Microsoft Excel user
• Self-starter with the ability to show initiative
