Assistant General Manager
The primary purpose of the Assistant General Manager position is to work closely with General Manager to learn and master all aspects of warehouse operations in support of the fulfillment center. Tasks may include assistance with staffing, production planning, inventory management, warehouse maintenance, safety, general day-to-day operations, etc. This role is a critical part of maintaining the Crystal Creek culture, managing the team, as well as efficiently managing fulfillment for new and active clients.
Specific Responsibilities
Consult with the General Manager as well as the Inventory Supervisor, Office Admin, and Warehouse Department Leads to ensure effective completion of all warehouse responsibilities.
Foster a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale, company culture, and engagement.
Assist with developing procedures and driving continuous improvement throughout all departmental operations by focusing on safety, production goals, problem solving and team building.
Assist in developing and implementing the daily operating plan to include manpower planning, warehouse work schedules, and training.
Provide help to management, including assistance with hiring and training, and keep management updated on team performance.
Communicate effectively and timely with management/administration.
Ensure safety and operating procedures are known, understood, and followed.
Liaising with other groups on work-related issues and concerns.
Preparing reports as required, relating to procedures, efficiency, attendance, etc.
Receive guidance from the General Manager and HR in handling sensitive employee situations, such as performance issues, absenteeism, etc.
Take accountability for the behavior and performance of the assigned group and/or shift, and provides on-the-job training and mentoring to other team members.
Ensure standards are achieved for all packages shipped and items received in the facility.
Work with General Manager and Inventory Supervisor to assist with the oversight of warehouse Inventory Management: slotting locations, racking, cycle counts, inventory of products, etc.
Assist the General Manager in achieving quarterly and annual budget requirements.
Assist with equipment maintenance and ensuring timely completion of maintenance projects.
Assist with General Manager needs in the absence of the Manager.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as the role continues to develop.
Support the Director of Operations as needed.
Other Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to openly and effectively communicate with all associates
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to provide leadership, support, and guidance to warehouse team members.
Ability to delegate tasks.
Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers.
Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment and tools used to perform the job.
Knowledge of safe work practices.
Ability to work within tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred knowledge of inventory control practices.
Able to work with all levels of company staff and delegate tasks.
Physically able to sit for extended periods of time.
Occasionally stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Lift up to 60 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Occasionally be exposed to freezing conditions with proper gear in the warehouse product freezer.
Required Education & Experience
Minimum of 3 years of transportation/delivery, e-commerce fulfillment experience required.
Minimum of 3 years managing and/or supervising a team.
Minimum of an Associate’s degree.
Must be 21 or older
