ContainerCo was established in 2013 when the container depot assets of NZL Group Limited were merged with United Containers Limited. They operate one of New Zealand’s leading container depot businesses as well as a container hire and sales business with 12 branches across the country turning over 100m.

About The Role

You will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the container sales and leasing business, overseeing the portfolio for modifications, and ensuring the growth of the ICEBOX brand. This role also involves managing the parts supply business “Container Pro” to drive sustainable market and revenue growth.

Reporting to the CEO, key responsibilities include;

Strategy

• Develop and recommend business strategies to the CEO.
• Lead the implementation of plans aligned with the agreed strategic direction.
• Gain competitive advantage through innovation and technology.
• Recommend and support/lead business acquisitions.

Management:

• Ensure safety and compliance systems are applied by staff.
• Organise and resource the business for effective and efficient operations.
• Ensure continuous improvement through regular reviews and planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting for the business.
• Set KPIs that drive and improve business performance

Leadership:

• Provide effective leadership through coaching and mentoring.
• Develop personal skills and capability for continuous improvement.

Financial:

• Oversee the development of the annual budget with assistance from the CFO.
• Ensure expenditures are within the authorized annual budget.
• Achieve financial targets set by the CEO.

Customer Relationships:

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with key customers and industry figures.
• Ensure staff embody a customer-focused ethos contributing to commercial success.

About You

• Tertiary qualification in business, management, or related discipline preferred.
• Exposure to shipping, logistics, or container industry advantageous.
• Extensive experience leading and managing sales teams.
• Excellent commercial and financial acumen.
• Refined customer relationship management skills at a senior level.
