Salary: £36,298 – £37,261

Hours: 37 hours per week

Cumbria County Council is changing. From 1 April 2023 local government in Cumbria is reforming, meaning the current six district councils and Cumbria County Council will be replaced by two new unitary authorities- Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumberland Council.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Children’s Safeguarding Hub with Cumbria County Council. We are looking to recruit a full time Education Officer who is able to demonstrate an ability to work on a partnership level within the Safeguarding Hub.

The successful candidate would be required to contribute to the ongoing development of pathways and protocols in response to contacts with the Safeguarding Hub from schools and other educational settings and provide a key interface between local schools and other education settings and the Safeguarding Hub.

The role also would require the successful candidate to provide advice and support to both educational settings and to team members in relation to school systems and practice pertinent to the effective operation of the Hub, alongside contributing to the overall development of the Hub and the improvement of services for children, young people and their families.

Applicants will be required to possess an appropriate professional or degree level qualification or equivalent experience in the field of Education, Social Care and/or Early Help. The successful candidate will be required to have significant experience of undertaking assessments and formulating appropriate responses to improve the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

The successful applicant will be employed by Cumbria County Council until 31.3.23. As of 1.4.23, employment will transfer under TUPE regulations to Cumberland Council; this will be further discussed at interview.
