Let’s talk about the team and the role:
As Cyara scales its products and its engineering organization, we’re looking to add an additional talented and driven Senior Software Engineer – JavaScript to join our existing Agile development team. Our latest area of product development is an IoT style of application that collects data from browser-based enterprise applications. This data collection happens inside a Web Browser, so your strong development expertise in JavaScript /Typescript on the Browser side are critical. The role can be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Let’s talk about the role and responsibilities:
No two days will be the same and your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Working with a Product Owner, Tech Lead, and team members to define and expand the team’s roadmap and backlog
• Working within your team to design, develop, and deliver features following Agile best practices, on time and with quality
• Hands-on development of Cyara platform full-stack features and components, with a heavy focus on front end data collection.
• Participation in technical discussions with developers within your team and across teams
• Providing developer support to Cloud operations concerning CI/CD, production system troubleshooting and timely issue resolution

Let’s talk about your skills and experience:
This is not a role where you’ll be focused on developing UI’s. We’re looking for development skills focused more on integrating with other application JavaScript within the Browser. Other skills must include:

• Strong JavaScript /Typescript skills on the Browser side are critical
• Front-end development isn’t the only target of this role, experience with back-end technologies such as AWS and Postgres will definitely be advantageous
• Experience writing non-trivial JavaScript/TypeScript for a minimum of 5 years
• Experience with designing and developing JavaScript APIs and SDK libraries in multiple flavours (plain, ESM, UMD) via Webpack/rollup
• Experience publishing packages to NPM or JFrog
• Experience with developing using web workers and web sockets
• Experience with testing frameworks and browser automation tools such as Cypress.io, Selenium, Jest or similar
• Excellent written and verbal communications and a natural problem solver with strong organizational skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with developing Chrome Extensions
• Experience with CCaaS platforms like Amazon Connect, Genesys Cloud, or Twilio Flex
• Experience with developing WebRTC enabled browser applications
• Working with applications utilising Agile, React and Vue frameworks. (Our application components may be required to interoperate with these frameworks in 3rd party applications, the primary focus of this role however isn’t developing user interface applications)

• NodeJS (standalone and AWS Lambda)
• Knowledge of AWS services such as API Gateway, and SQS
• SQL/PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB
