Length of contract: 12 months
Contract extensions: 2 x up to 12 months options to extend
Security clearance: Ability to obtain baseline clearance (Must be Australian Citizen)
Rates: $100 – $130 per hour (inc. super)
As the Messaging Specialist, you will maintain current knowledge and experience across the following technologies:
- Microsoft Technologies including:
o Microsoft 365
o Exchange
o Azure
o Active Directory and
o Azure Active Directory
- Provide 3rd level support for all Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online related issues.
- Design and configure business components according to agreed business needs, such as Exchange Online and supporting Microsoft 365 and cloud services.
- Create and maintain a contemporary Modern Workplace environment and improve user experience.
- Mentoring the Messaging team to develop their Microsoft 365 support and maintenance skills.
- Maintain the Governance and Security Model for the platform.
- User and support staff documentation.
As the Messaging Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:
- Provide specialised technical expertise and recommendations on Microsoft 365 products and services.
- Provide 3rd level support for all Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online related issues.
- Design and configure business components according to agreed business need, such as Exchange Online and supporting Microsoft 365 and cloud services.
- Create and maintain a contemporary Modern Workplace environment improve end user experience.
- Mentoring the IT team to develop their Microsoft 365 support and maintenance skills.
- Documenting and running changes (start to finish) under the ITIL framework.
- Updating and maintaining the Department’s documentation and management tools.
Essential Criteria
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical operations role as a Messaging specialist.
- Demonstrated experience in producing and reviewing technical and design documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex secure environments.
- Strong experience in implementing IT solutions for large, highly integrated government agencies or private organisations.
Desirable Criteria
- Management and administration of Microsoft Exchange 2016 and Exchange online
- Extensive PowerShell skills including development of ground-up scripting across Exchange, Active Directory and other Microsoft 365 services
- Experience with migration paths from on-prem solutions to Microsoft 365
- Microsoft and ITIL certifications are highly regarded
