DADELSZEN Looking for Retail Director at Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Full Time

The Retail Director role represents an exciting opportunity for a luxury expert to take ownership over the growth of New Zealand’s only true luxury brand.

As Dadelszen’s retail lead, you will be responsible for the development of the brand’s clientele. As part of a high end, high-touch, personal shopping-focussed business, you will introduce clients to the brand and product offer, and guide them through the sales cycle from start to finish to re-engagement – understanding and pre-empting their needs, and ensuring that they become lasting ambassadors for the Dadelszen universe.

You will be an established player in the luxury fashion space with a deep knowledge of the industry as well as the local luxury consumer network.

You will also manage the execution of bespoke brand partnerships and activations, driving success by nurturing personal relationships and a sense of brand community, and work closely with key stakeholders to build the brand’s profile across digital and social platforms.

The successful applicant will receive a highly competitive salary and significant additional performance-based compensation. 

Luxury fashion and clienteling experience is essential, and an established and proven VIP contact book of UHNW clients is a must.

ROLE FUNCTIONS

• Deliver an exceptional, world-class luxury customer experience to all Dadelszen clients and prospective clients.
• Deliver outstanding financial results against KPIs.
• Grow and nurture the Dadelszen VIP audience with a particular focus on womenswear, ensuring repeat business is consistently captured.
• Oversight of VIP clients and strategies that support them (retention, development, network leverage).
• Identify and create fresh commercial opportunities.
• Be an ambassador for the brand, both on-site and at luxury events.
• Monitors client development KPIs (e.g. frequency, spend, engagement) for new and existing customers.
• Manage the showroom diary and use thorough preparation to deliver a fluid and bespoke experience for every client. 
• Drives all client development-specific initiatives in store or market in partnership with GM and CEO.
• Curate Dadelszen showroom merchandising against brand vision.
• Oversee daily showroom operations, ensuring smooth functioning of foundational procedures and continued optimisation.
• Monitor and manage showroom stock levels, supporting the GM.
• Ensuring accurate, timely and consistent reporting and analysis.
• Develop and execute on selling events and participate in trunk shows and off-site activations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum five years experience working in luxury retail at a senior level.
• Exceptional VIP contact book.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Highly detail-oriented and rigorous about procedure.
• Made-to-measure experience highly preferable.
• Experience with retail POS software (Vend, Cin7).
• Experience with ecommerce software (ideally WooCommerce) is beneficial.
• Competency with Google Suite, Office 365
• Robust understanding of the luxury fashion market landscape.
• Mandarin fluency beneficial
