Dahlson Industries is a fast growing fabrication company. We are looking for self motivated, well organized individuals with good written and oral communications skills, to join our team.

Required qualifications include:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment along with experience in the oil and gas sector

• Intermediate level computer skills in Word, Excel
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
• Effective negotiation skills when dealing with vendors/suppliers
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective team player with a high level of initiative and integrity

• Effective problem solving skills with the ability to “quickly think on the feet” to resolve problems using a practical, common sense approach

• Attention to detail
• Dependability and reliability; demonstration of regular and punctual attendance
• Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• File Management courses including Information and Records Management would be an asset.
• The Supply Chain Management Professional Designation (SCMP) would be an asset. (Note: This designation replaces the Certified Professional Purchaser or C.P.P. designation.)
  

  Responsibilities will include:

• Use the Bill of Material to manage the purchasing and logistics of materials required for each specific project/job.
• Develop and conduct supplier evaluations (performance management strategies) to ensure effective supply chain management process and efficiencies in the quality management process.
• Participate in the recommendation and implementation of approved purchasing policies and procedures.
• Manage purchase requisitions or quotes on materials to ensure appropriate decisions are made regarding choice of suppliers; obtain purchase order numbers; ensure suppliers and purchase order requirements meet the standards as established by API.

Work closely with Shipper/Receiver regarding the logistics and processes supporting the purchasing function.

• Work closely with manufacturing/shop floor regarding the production schedules to ensure the appropriate flow of materials, parts, and assemblies.
• Develop and maintain a master inventory binder/database, and maintain an accurate count of all inventories including steel; ensure surplus materials, if any, are accounted for in inventory count.
• Follow all required Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures including WHMIS procedures, and the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, steel toed boots)
• Adhere to quality procedures and work instructions, and actively participate in the quality improvement process.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily indoor industrial work setting
• Overtime may be required
