New Zealand’s dairy sector is hugely important, in fact it’s our number one primary industry.

Over the past 15 years the dairy sector has taken significant steps towards being more sustainable, and with the rapid pace of change, there is more to be done.

As an Associate, you will work closely with our Strategy & Investment Leaders to support successful outcomes for our stakeholders, NZ dairy farmers. This role provides input to our investment strategy, helping identify and promote the key priorities facing farmers, and works with DairyNZ and external providers on delivery of elements of the strategy. Critical to the role is the provision of technical insight and guidance in relation to strategic investments and the monitoring and reporting on delivery of agreed outcomes.

This role is also integral to delivery of our sector strategy, Dairy Tomorrow, tasked with working closely with the Dairy Tomorrow partners, co-ordinating activity, ensuring communication and driving delivery across the programme. To ensure success, monitoring and reporting progress is also a key activity. You will ensure DairyNZ works in a co-ordinated way with other industry and sector stakeholders so that farmer and industry outcomes are achieved, together with providing technical insight and guidance in relation to strategic investments for the advancement of the industry, and monitor and report on delivery of agreed priorities.

We need a great relationship builder and strong influencer, to engage stakeholders and partners to ensure delivery, drive understanding of, and support for, the DairyNZ strategy and Dairy Tomorrow programme. Preference will be given to applicants with a knowledge of the issues facing dairy farmers and/or an understanding of dairy’s place in the NZ economy.
