Strategy & Investment Leader – People & Business
The Role:
Reporting to the CEO, this is a leadership, oversight and influencing role which leads collaboration and partnering to ensure the best decisions around strategic investments for the advancement of the New Zealand dairy industry. As a member of the DairyNZ senior leadership team, the role contributes to the development of DairyNZ’s strategic direction and organisational leadership.
This opportunity has arisen due to internal movement and we seek an individual with a clear understanding of the issues facing our New Zealand dairy farmers in terms of business and people capability, and the relevant expertise. This could include AgriBusiness and/or Human Resource Management with dairy experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to collective industry thinking about issues affecting the success of the dairy industry (particularly those that relate to the farm business and people capability aspects of farm performance) play a lead role in the development of the investment strategy and promote dairy farmer interests.
- Monitor and maintain a watching brief on industry strategic issues and trends, locally and globally.
- Manage and monitor investments and leverage providers and other investors.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify, prioritise and maximise investment opportunities.
- Provide insight and technical leadership for farm business and people capability concerns, drawing on expertise where required.
- Budget development and management for investments.
About You:
To be successful with this opportunity you will have proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills and excellent commercial and strategic acumen. You will have skills in deal making, partnering and stakeholder relationship strategy as demonstrated by achievements in leading large projects or initiatives through sector wide stakeholder engagement. You will be future focused and have strong intellect and analytical and problem-solving skills.
This opportunity will appeal to leaders with an affinity with dairy farming including knowledge and understanding of the key issues, well developed industry networks, and the ability to communicate in a compelling way in order to make a real difference to a sector integral to New Zealand’s prosperity and wellbeing.
Preferred location is Hamilton, however, we will consider Lincoln.
