Lead Delivery Driver – Truck Service Centers (260 Days) -(RTP20220207-011)
Description
- Operate Motor Pool department in the absence of the Transport Bulk Supervisor
- Dispatch daily mail truck deliveries
- Maintain accurate files of deliveries and other required paperwork and generate reports as needed
- Communicate professionally and effectively with campus principals, departments heads, and District staff and respond to all inquiries regarding delivers in a timely manner
- Drives and delivers when necessary due to demand or staff absence
- Loads and unloads trucks, ensure loads match delivery tickets, and signs and/or obtains signatures on all delivery tickets
- Follow all District and departmental safety policies and procedures including safety checking loads to ensure they are secured properly
- Assist in the supervision of large moves
- Report any incidents and accidents to vehicle, personnel, or merchandise in their care
- Assist in training and cross-training other employees
- Maintain an acceptable grooming standard and dress code as required by the Dallas ISD and the Service Center (s)
Qualifications
- High School diploma or USA equivalency
- Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience
- Must have a valid Class A CDL Driver’s License and a driving record that meets District standards
- Proven ability to operate all Service Center vehicles and equipment including but not limited to an 18-wheeler truck, step van, and 20 ft. box truck
- Ability to communicate job expectations effectively to drivers
- Capability to perform job responsibilities under general supervision
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to work overtime, as needed or required
