About the job

As our Food Safety Manager, you will lead our Food Safety Compliance team, managing 2 direct reports. You will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, leading audits and managing our Quality Management System (HACCP) at our factory.

This is a permanent full-time position, working Mon-Fri 8am-4.30pm with working from home option.

You will:

  • Ensure Food Safety of products by being accountable for the proper operation of the Food Safety systems in line with Danone Food Safety policy
  • Ensure the implementation and proper functioning of the Danone Food Defence Programme at the factory
  • Oversee the implementation of the site audit calendar, ensuring that audits carried out are effective and followed up
  • Be responsible for the implementation of Danone approach of HACCP standards & risk assessments
  • Ensure factory adherence to all regulatory, corporate and ISO 22000 Quality & Food Safety Standards and dissemination of any relevant updates

About you

In addition to a strong background in Food Science, Chemistry/Biology or Process Engineering, to be successful in this role ideally you will also have:

  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance in dairy, food or pharmaceutical industry, understanding of risk assessment in dairy production is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of RMP/GMP, NZFSA/FSANZ compliance & ISO/HACCP/FSSC standards
  • Ability to interpret & adapt technical knowledge to the manufacturing processes on-site
  • Ability to engage stakeholders through effective communication and influencing
  • High level of attention to details and be a team player
