Danone Looking for Microbiology Laboratory Technician at Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Full Time

Come and join us in our state-of-the-art laboratory based at Mangere! We have a fantastic new opportunity for the Microbiology Technician to be part of our fun-loving and dynamic team Quality and Food Safety team. Your key responsibility in the role is to promote Quality and Food Safety within Danone manufacturing by conducting effective testing in accordance with approved standards and making recommendations for continuous improvement. Our laboratory operates Monday to Sunday.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Microbiology you will be part of the Lab Microbiology team. The role will focus on supporting testing needs as per approved methods and environmental sampling.

You will

• Accurately prepare microbiological media and reagents.
• Order and receive laboratory consumables.
• Maintain, operate, and calibrate laboratory equipment according to equipment manuals and safety procedures.
• Maintain laboratory and storage areas as per GMP/GLP/GHP requirements.
• Adhere to GMP practices while in the production areas.
• Support and participate (if performing testing) in Proficiency studies.
• Support any investigation related to Laboratory Non- Compliance
• Support verification of microbiological test methods.
• Maintain laboratory and storage areas as per GMP/GLP/GHP requirements.

About you

You will have a tertiary qualification in Microbiology/Science or equivalent. You enjoy working with details and have great initiative when it comes to supporting the team.

To be successful in this role, you will a have

• Experience working in a ISO17025 laboratory will be advantageous.
• Experience in environmental monitoring would be beneficial.
• A good understanding of basic chemistry, biology, and physics principles
• Understanding of microbiological testing requirements of infant formula. Working knowledge of GLP, GMP and GHP
• Computer literacy and Intermediate level in MS Excel, LIMS operational knowledge beneficial.
• Attention to details, strong ownership of your work and good communication skills
• The agility and resilience to succeed in a pressured and fast-paced environment
