DRET Teaching School Hub (TSH) is now recruiting for an Early Career Lead on a 0.2FTE, fixed term contract.

About the role

This is a key influencing role in the development of the TSH’s Early Career Teacher (ECT) programme provision.

To lead the ECT full induction programme – for ECTs undertaking the Teaching School Hub, including managing the relationship with a National Lead Provider of this Programme, recruiting and retaining schools and their employees to the Programme, delivery of training for ECTs and their Mentors, monitoring and quality assuring delivery of training by others, monitoring engagement of ECTs and their Mentors with in-school induction activities, and supporting senior leaders in schools to perform their related duties.

The Early Career Lead will work closely with the Director of Teaching School Hub to drive, maintain and evaluate ECT participant and school engagement with the Teaching School Hub’s Professional Learning for leaders and teachers across North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

This is a one-year fixed term contract, funded to August 2023. The role is 0.2 FTE and would be suitable for someone wishing to work part time or to run alongside another role.

The role is based at Havelock Academy in Grimsby but remote/hybrid working requests are welcome.

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Very strong track of professional development
• The ability to plan strategically, to set out clear aims and objectives and to manage transformational change successfully; carry out rigorous self-evaluation and review and to act on the findings in order to bring about improvement
• An understanding of how NPQ Leading Teacher development supports ECT mentoring
• An in-depth knowledge of best practice in teaching, learning and professional development
• A thorough understanding of how to use data to monitor standards of engagement and to plan appropriate interventions
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire confidence, trust and respect amongst key stakeholders
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and confidence in the use of new technologies.
• Experience in supporting or discussing high quality teaching methods in school and working with ITT/ECTs and supporting mentors in a school setting
