Job Description
-The De Beers Institute of Diamonds was set up by De Beers Group in 2008 and is designed to focus on bolstering consumer confidence across the diamond industry. Focusing on providing premium grading and melee testing services the company seeks to find ways to increase consumer confidence via our B2C customers, mainly consisting of Sightholders and Retailers.

In 2017, our Education Service was launched to bring a new style of modern and innovative learning to students both externally as well as our internal team members. Currently we sell 6 courses to the trade:

• Introduction to Diamonds: a 3-hour short online course targeting retail staff
• Diamond Foundation Course: an extensive 24-hour online course designed to showcase the full diamond pipeline for those working in senior industry roles
• Introduction to the 4Cs Workshop: a 1-day hands-on workshop discovering how to grade the 4Cs, and learn the impact that this has on diamond pricing
• Polished Diamond Grading Course: an extensive 3-month online course, followed by 1-week in a laboratory setting, this course is designed to create the diamond graders of the future
• Synthetic Diamond Detection Course: a 1-day workshop focused on learning how to positively identify natural diamonds from their lab-grown counterparts
• Rough Diamond Experience: a 1-day workshop learning how to sort and value rough diamonds. A unique De Beers experience.
• We also provide education and training for additional areas of the business, to support the wider work that De Beers does:
• Diamond Pipeline Course: A 5-day experience in London which is designed to showcase the full diamond pipeline to local Hatton Garden students. This forms part of our commitment to the development of the local diamond industry and is worth £100k each year.
• Code of Origin: the education team is responsible for the development of all materials related to the training of Code of Origin. This includes training for De Beers staff, Sightholders, Manufacturers, Designers and Retail.
• Development for Brand staff: we run regular seminars for our brand teams, so that they understand more about the grading and selection of diamonds which fit into their brands

The remit of the Education Service team is to design, build, launch and then promote each course to relevant customers and achieve a set education revenue budget each year. Working closely with local teams in global markets, we deliver courses globally wherever possible (limited) and push online sales across the world.

• We manage multiple delivery mechanisms in our education service:
• Kentico – our global platform which houses all eLearning courses as well as providing our online payment gateway and booking service for laboratory-based courses.
• WeChat – for China we operate a selection of courses in partnership with the NGTC. This allows online courses to be delivered by WeChat, and lab-based courses to be run at NGTC locations.
• Trade Shows – we attend events globally and look for opportunities to deliver educational courses to those who would not ordinarily be able to attend a De Beers location

The Digital Education Content Editor will be responsible for designing, creating, posting and monitoring the global digital educational content, presented by the Institute of Diamonds across all of the above courses.

This post requires someone with knowledge and passion for digital content creation and editing within CMS platforms. Experience in social content creation as well as analytics and reporting would also be advantageous as we look to strengthen the ties between the two subjects. We require a tenacious individual who will seek out opportunities to deliver key learning information delivered to our customers in an engaging format.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Work alongside the wider Education team to understand local plans/activities to ensure that education content developed within our Kentico/Nivac platform is developed, maintained and fit for purpose.
• Bite-size eLearning diamond topics for global use
• Maintenance and updates to CoO eLearning modules
• Maintenance of the various online IoD revenue courses
• Development and maintenance of eLearning for Charterhouse Street Course
• Development and maintenance of eLearning content for Otium Jewellery Design & Manufacturing Course
• Work Collaboratively with the Director of Education and local education/training teams to seek out new content opportunities globally to support De Beers brands, team development and external client staff.
• Own the measurement of insight generation from inside the Kentico/Nivac platform for eLearning monitoring. Use this to generate insights for continuous improvement.
• Plan and schedule regular testing of Kentico/Nivac content/functionality updates (copy, imagery and formats) to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
• Interact with various translation agencies for when materials need to be converted into other languages.
• Work alongside the Group marketing team to support the creation of regular social media laydowns (aligned to the global editorial education calendar), populated with rich and engaging social media themes / posts to ensure an ‘Always on’ narrative (across both organic and potential paid activity).
• Work collaboratively with the Director of Education to identify opportunities for each channel in social ecosystem (new and existing) to inform overall strategic development and social media presence.
• Management of scheduling and posting for all global social content, engaging with the community, moderating conversations in the social media management tool.
• Management of the Kentico platform (in close collaboration with platform provider) to ensure that the IoD maximises the potential of the functionality available all communications activity.
• Own the measurement of insight generation and reporting to provide social media reports and insights.

Qualifications
-Experience

• A minimum of 2 years proven digital content editing experience using a recognised Content Management System or eLearning platform
• Social media and digital content creation experience would be an advantage
• Experience delivering optimised content across web browsers and mobile devices
• Previous experience in analysis of social media metrics would be an advantage
• International experience or working with multi-language teams would be an advantage
• Detail orientated and highly organised
• Culturally sensitive / relationship builder
• Strategic and creative thinker – sees the long term / big picture, able to contribute to content planning
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build credible relationships
• Previous luxury brand / retail experience would be an advantage
• Proactive attitude, with the ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines
• Ability to build effective working relationships and influence others to gain alignment, ensuring key decisions are made in a timely manner
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail

Technical Experience

• Knowledge and experience using CMS systems such as Kentico, EpiServer, SiteCore or a similar platform
• Experience editing HTML and optimising images and videos for the web – mention HTML as the editors used in CMS’ are HTML behind the scenes
• An understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
• Experience configuring and using social media platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram etc.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards
• Understanding of image/film editing tools such as Photoshop or InDesign would be an advantage
• Advanced usage of PowerPoint/Captivate (or equivalents) is preferred
