Deakin University Hiring for Front End Developer Job at Melbourne, Australia Full Time

We are currently seeking to appoint a Front-End Developer for creating, maintaining and supporting digital solutions on WordPress and across a wide range of Graduate Employment channels and systems. The position develops and implements creative user-centric digital products and applications within the Graduate Employment digital ecosystem. The position plays a key role in ensuring on demand or pre-planned, high-quality digital support is delivered efficiently and effectively to all Graduate Employment staff. This position has a passion for graduate employment and supports users of the Division’s technologies.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Contributing to front-end development activity, that includes designing, developing and enhancing digital solutions for Divisional projects according to timelines and identified requirements.
• Providing front-end design and development skills within existing technologies and advice on the use of emergent technologies.
• Ensuring all digital channels, products and assets meet Deakin and stakeholder requirements for usability, quality, accessibility, interface and responsive design, and Graduate Employment branding guidelines and provide recommendations for improvements as applicable.
• Proactively undertaking a range of maintenance tasks such as quality audits, reviewing and refreshing existing digital content and assets.
• Providing front-end technical support and assistance to enhance services and operations.
• Assisting with implementing digital solutions and other resources for staff such as procedures, processes, training materials and knowledge base documentation.

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Tertiary degree in information technology or computer science or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
• Knowledge of and experience in front-end development within WordPress.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying Web APIs and RSS feeds.
• Demonstrated experience with BI tools and systems such as Power BI, Tableau, and SAP.
• Experience in using a range of digital channels and systems to provide service and support to a range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated proficient skills and experience in WordPress, custom WordPress plugins, PHP and MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experienced developing visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards using Power BI Desktop/Online.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively and seek guidance or direction in a complex and diverse working environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, client service communication and presentation skills, with the ability to follow a systematic work process in compliance with the team and Divisional strategy.
• Proven computer literacy skills, including the use of Zoom, Microsoft Office 365 suite and Outlook with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong written documentation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
