The Junior Software Engineer provides a range of services across the development and support of applications and platforms. Undertake Analysis, developments and support tasks related to project requirements and operational needs and the implementation of changes using approved methods and procedures. Resolve operational issues in order to restore services to customers as efficiently as possible. Assist with testing and quality assurance activities, undertaking small bug fixes and development activities to support and enhance enterprise applications and platforms.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and deploying project and operational requirements, including small bug fixes to technical problems, and the provision of operational support to a wide range of web and corporate applications and platforms
• Creating practical, simple and accessible solutions to problems after considering multiple perspectives
• Adopting new ideas and approaches and learning from various points of view and confirming understanding
• Consulting with available sources to gather relevant information and seek the expertise and advice of other people as appropriate
• Collecting and analysing information and data from a variety of appropriate sources to solve work problems
• Understanding local processes, preparing standard documents, managing records, regularly tracking progress of work tasks, and identifying key issues
• Seeking to understand the evolving digital landscape and keep abreast of trends and new technologies
• Taking personal responsibility and showing initiative to meeting goals and objectives contributing to an inclusive team environment

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Completion of a Diploma level qualification with relevant work experience or a certificate level qualification with post- certificate relevant work experience
• Completion of a Post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant experience and on the job training
• Completion of a Degree in computing related discipline without subsequent relevant work experience; or
• An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training (application development and development practices)
• Ability to understand new technologies and standards documents
• High motivation, passion for technology and the ability and drive to self-teach
