In this position, you are the face of the hotel and are often the first and last interaction a guest has with the business. Therefore, it’s essential that you take every opportunity to make our guest’s stay with us, and their time in Jasper, as enjoyable and memorable as possible.
What the position looks like
As the Front Desk Shift Supervisor, you will report directly to the Front Office Manager and General Manager. The ideal candidate will supervise the Front Office team in delivering exceptionally friendly service to our hotel guests. You will have strong customer service skills, a positive attitude and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will enjoy challenges and resolve customer complaints skillfully.
Responsibilities
· Ensures that the Front Desk department delivers an exceptional level of guest services and is customer focused at all times
· Responsible for all phases of guest and group check-in and accommodating walk-in guests and special requests wherever possible
· Conduct pre-assignment of hotel rooms, which includes VIPs, repeat guests and any special requests
· Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit and cash handling policies and procedures
· Manages and resolves all guest requests and complaints in a professional, courteous and timely manner in accordance with hotel policies
· Ensures that the appearance and conduct of the Front Desk team is at all times consistent with the hotel brand
· Strong knowledge of the structure and function of all hotel departments, facilities, rooms, rates, activities, services and hours of operation of the property
· Train, coach and develop a successful and enthusiastic team of Front Desk employees
· Responsible for the scheduling of the Front Desk team based on occupancy forecasts
· Assists with the completion of performance reviews for Front Desk employees
· Documents all Front Desk employee disciplinary action with support from the HR department
· Other duties assigned as necessary
Qualifications
· Minimum 1 year of previous Front Office experience in a hotel environment
· Previous supervisory experience preferred
· Previous experience with Opera Property Management System preferred
· Strong ability to communicate professionally and effectively with guests and team members
· Strong leadership, training and organizational skills
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment efficiently with minimal supervision
