He angitūtanga | About the role
The Kaitiaki, Ranger is a crucial operational role position which forms a close-knit team based in the Motueka. You will be contributing to the meaningful mahi in both back and front-country as you assist the operations team maintain the Kahurangi National Park and Mt Richmond Forest Park.

This role may involve living and working in remote locations for up to a week at a time with access via helicopter.

You will have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude, be a total team player and enjoy working in the outdoors. You will be making a hands-on difference in the landscape of our back and front country facilities as you bring your practical field skills to the team. Ideally, we you will display a high level of fitness and strong enough to undertake a physical job and enjoy working in the field in remote locations.

The Operations Team in the Motueka District is a large team with a mixture of both permanent, fixed term and casual staff. The development of the work programme is undertaken by Senior Rangers who are complemented by our supervisors which schedule and organise the teams. The District Team is also supported by temporary, seasonal, contractors and volunteers’ staff throughout the year, assisting the team to achieve conservation outcomes in the Motueka district.

The salary range for this position is $47,320 to $59,978 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
