He angitūtanga | About the role
Our Kaitiaki Matua/Senior Rangers form an integral part of our Whakatane district team and we have an opportunity for someone with the right skills and experience to join us as a Senior Ranger, Heritage and Visitors.
This role works closely alongside our District Leadership Team to support the strategy, planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of our district work programme to our Pou Matarautaki (Operation Manager). No two days are the same and the scope of the work is varied and diverse.
The Whakatane district is home to a diverse suite of spectacular recreational assets including Motu Trails National Cycleway, Whirinaki Te Pua-a-Tane Rainforest Park Recreational suite and Nga Tapuwae o Toi walkway along with many other recreational opportunities.
This role will specifically focus on work planning, scheduling and managing visitor assets and heritage sites, and could be anything from the identifying maintenance issues with our tracks and utilities, to planning work within budget and resources and allocating out to teams.

The salary range for this position is $72,610 to $92,780 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
