Mō te tūnga | About the role

Infrastructure and Digital Assets (IDA) provide a range of services to support the delivery of Corrections’ core business and ensure we can maintain consistent service delivery regardless of external events and crises.

The Offender Management System team are responsible for the development and management of the eco system of applications used by staff when managing people in our care. The team works alongside our key vendors on projects and business as usual activities. We are currently looking for a passionate Data Architect to join the team to provide Data Architecture specific support for both BAU and project activity.

In this role you will have the opportunity to outline and develop the Department’s overall data architecture vision, ensuring that technology, software and data services facilitate the delivery of applications that are consistent with business objectives. In addition, you will:

• Consult with end-users, stakeholders to define business requirements for complex application and infrastructure development
• Develop processes, standards, and recommendations that will enhance and further develop Data Architecture
• Develop Architecture Roadmaps including domain and topic focused roadmaps and data related artefacts

• Drive the development of designs that contribute to meeting project, programme, or change initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance across the organisation and ensure this is reflected down to the project planning level
• Work with the Architecture group to ensure alignment with the organisation’s IT and business architecture and strategy.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

• Ability to manage the development of architecture to meet business requirements
• A solid understanding of the applications in the enterprise portfolio and how they are used to enable business processes
• Knowledge of service-orientated development and deployment to multi-tier architectures.
• Significant experience with formal architecture frameworks
• Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills with proven ability to coach and mentor others.
