The Adviser Inquiries Support role offers a unique opportunity to help establish a new, dedicated function ensuring Corrections engages meaningfully and proactively with Waitangi Tribunal kaupapa inquiries, Royal Commissions, and other inquiry-like processes such as those undertaken by United Nations entities.
As the Adviser, you will help scope and plan Corrections’ engagement across a number of concurrent, long-term inquiries.
You will help identify risks and opportunities to inform advice to senior leaders, including Executive and Minister, about how these will be navigated. Your advice will acknowledge and reflect Corrections’ commitments as a treaty partner, our values, and objectives under our strategy, Hōkai Rangi.
You will liaise with inquiry staff and other government agencies, and with staff across the Department of Corrections, to prioritise demands and ensure requirements and deadlines are met.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you are interested in the developing role of the Waitangi Tribunal in considering te Tiriti o Waitangi | Treaty of Waitangi implications of social policy, and the role and contribution of the corrections system in the Aotearoa New Zealand social policy context.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $82,130 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $69,811 – $98,556 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
