Ngā kawenga | About the role
As the Portfolio Analyst within Health, Safety and Wellbeing, you will be part of a team who supports P3 and Health & Safety practitioners delivering projects and initiatives within the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Portfolio. Ultimately, we need your help in ensuring the portfolio has a view of benefit realisations across multiple portfolios, and the department, including current health and safety industry standards, and the monitoring of themes and best practices in this environment.
Role
Our work environment is often fast-paced – so this role calls for someone who is naturally proactive and who shows initiative to keep on track with multiple tasks and changing priorities, which also means no two days are the same when there is such a variety of tasks to get stuck into such as:
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will be an excellent communicator and relationship builder – leading engagement with programmes and projects to develop documentation that reports progress, risks, escalations, and opportunities at a Portfolio level. You will enjoy engaging with SMEs, Programme and Project Managers, helping, monitoring, advice, and support, coaching or training on PMO requirements, ensuring PMO and Departmental Health, Safety & Wellbeing specific risk frameworks, and disciplines, are understood, adopted, and embedded.
This role is well suited to someone who combines P3M3 expertise with pragmatic support and works in a positive and collaborative way. You will thrive on complex detail, applying your strong analytical skills and sound judgement to synthesise information into meaningful insights and suggest ways to improve ways of working for both the PMO team and the practitioners you support. This is a great opportunity for self-motivated people who are calm under pressure and comfortable with ambiguity.
Experience working within a health & safety environment is highly desirable but not required.

The midpoint of the salary range is $93,210 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $79,229 – $111,852 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
