The SQL Developer role will be part of the Child Link Development team and is responsible for providing technical implementation expertise in SQL. Child Link is a strategic information technology system being led by the Department of Education and Training (DET) to improve information sharing between practitioners across Departments and services in Victoria to improve outcomes for all children.
The Program operates with multiple, concurrent project streams and technology products, and is bound by a defined structured governance process. This role will support the Child Link team by providing technical implementation expertise in SQL, and undertaking the implementation of approved Child Link changes and enhancements. The SQL Developer will be required to understand the business needs and input into solution options and feasibility assessments of demand in collaboration with the project streams, including providing effort estimation. They will need to work closely with technical and business Subject Matter Experts to plan and communicate across all Child Link streams, including dependencies and impacts. They will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project principles and practises with a tailored Agile development approach to fit large, complex, business-critical projects with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.
