Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning Hiring for Cloud Network Engineer Job at Melbourne, Australia Full Time

About You

You are an experienced cloud platform engineer, specialising in implementing and managing network services in the cloud. Our cloud computing environment is Azure and we are increasingly moving to cloud native tooling. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with solid technical capability, who will take responsibility for managing our network services within Azure, as well as supporting the broader platform team with ongoing automation and optimisation of our Azure cloud services.

• This role includes providing rostered technology support during the Victorian fire season. While this may include weekend and evening work, it will entitle you to additional pay (on top of your base pay) and additional leave.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification(s) in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in networking principles (routing, switching, load balancing, firewall management) and relevant tools and processes within a cloud environment:
• Experience configuring software based IPSEC and SSL based VPN solutions
• Experience configuring and supporting devices such as Citrix Netscaler, Next Gen Palo Alto, Imperva Incapsula or their cloud native counterparts.
• Experience managing full application stacks from O/S up through custom applications
• Strong knowledge of networking and routing protocols
• Experience with implementation and management of networking services (network administration and incident management) in a cloud environment
• Good understanding of security best practices
• Demonstrable experience with general cloud platform engineering, DevOps pipeline and automation processes and tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with database technologies including working knowledge of SQL, SQL PaaS, relational data stores

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 3 years.
