Whakapapa is all about recording important information that helps to paint a detailed picture of how life is and how life was, and we make that information available to everyone. We are passionate about this country and the people that call it home.
Archives New Zealand Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga sits within the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department’s epicentre of information management, culture and heritage. Our branch is all about collecting, storing and preserving important things that are precious to New Zealand.
Archives New Zealand has a Digitisation programme of work in support of the Archives 2057 Strategy. Te Maeatanga | Digitisation is responsible for the delivery of large-scale systematic digitisation of our archive holdings to make them available to our customers online anywhere any time and to preserve the original paper record.
We have an opportunity for a fixed term Digitisation Assistant role to join our team. As a Digitisation Assistant you will be working in the whole process from retrieving, preparing the records for digitisation, digitising the items using a variety of Scanners and Cameras whilst applying the correct standards, quality checking, safe handling of heritage material, and repacking. If you enjoy helping to improve processes and systems, and enjoy a supportive team environment, you will be a good fit for the role.
If you thrive on juggling multiple priorities and working with a team of diverse people, enjoy a challenge, and knowing that what you do, you do for the good of New Zealand, we would very much like to hear from you.
We are an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion. We recognise a diverse workforce contributes to better business outcomes. We are committed to creating a workplace where all employees have equal access.
