Department of Premier and Cabinet Hiring for Senior DevOps Engineer (VPSG6) Job at Melbourne, Australia Full Time

The Department of Premier and Cabinet are looking for an exceptional Senior DevOps Engineer to work within a dedicated, collaborative team designing and delivering digital services.

This role sits within our Digital Design and Innovation (DDI) branch. DDI focuses on delivering digital projects, accessible open data, information services, website content and social media strategies, as well as managing products used across the Whole of Victorian Government.

As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in a multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for driving continuous improvement across a range of hosting infrastructure services.

The main focus will be on Kubernetes-based hosting platforms used by Single Digital Presence (SDP) a shared online publishing platform built by government, for government.

The technology stack includes Azure Redhat OpenShift (ARO), Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Lagoon, SumoLogic, GitHub, Ansible, Terraform, and CircleCI.

This position requires a tertiary qualification in an area such as Computer Science or similar as well as eligibility to get Security Clearance.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

• Expert knowledge and experience in web application hosting and expert knowledge is AWS and/or Azure Infrastructure management and maintenance.
• Expert knowledge in CI/CD pipeline management and maintenance
• Expert knowledge in Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift management and maintenance
• Expert knowledge in the use of configuration as code in production environments.
• Working knowledge of tools and languages such as Terraform, Ansible, Varnish, Jenkins, NodeJS, Python, Go, shell scripting.
