| Under the general supervision of the Vehicle and Facility Maintenance |
| Manager; performs cabinet making, carpentry work, masonry work, all |
| maintenance, remodeling, new construction, and painting along with |
| interior and exterior building renovations.The hours for this |
| position are Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm. |

| EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: |

| Performs maintenance painting by applying paint to surfaces with |
| airless, pot sprayers, brush and roller type equipment. |
| |
| Caulks, cuts glass, replaces windows, window frames and glass, and |
| performs plaster patch work. Installs door frames and hangs doors in |
| existing and non-existing openings. |
| |
| Performs maintenance/repair activities on buildings and equipment |
| including replacing lightbulbs and opening clogged drains and |
| toilets. |
| |
| Cleans, maintains equipment used in the building trades area. |
| |
| Performs brick tuck pointing, brick replacing.Inspects, installs, |
| repairs, and replaces roofs made of metal, asphalt, and rubber |
| membranePerforms carpentry work on all Water Works buildings as |
| required. |
| |
| Erects buildings, walls and rafters. |
| |
| Installs and finishes drywall, drop ceilings, and wood and metal |
| siding. |
| |
| Installs and repairs new and existing plumbing according to city, and |
| state codes |
| |
| Operates the necessary machinery to produce a finished product such |
| as radial arm, table, band, jig and skill saws; power miter planer; |
| belt and orbital sanders; wood lathe and drill press. |
| |
| Refinishes, finishes, repairs, and builds furniture and cabinets. |
| |
| Reviews blueprints and determine material and compiles labor and cost |
| estimates. |
| |
| Performs other duties of a similar nature. |

| QUALIFICATIONS: |

| Education:Vocational trade school diploma. |
| |
| Experience:4 years’ experience in Building Trades. Additional |
| experience may substit te for required education. |
| |
| Licenses/Certifications:Valid State of Iowa driver’s license. |
