Job summary
We are seeking a Head of Education and Training with the enthusiasm and ambition to match ours. This role is a member of our forward thinking and ambitious Senior Leadership Team.
The role will be based at Wonford House in Exeter, with a mixed model of home and on-site working. Working 30 hours per week (0.8wte) for a period of 6 months. This could be a secondment or a temporary contract, subject to review.
You will have experience of managing a learning function and will be able to demonstrate innovative ways of creating and delivering learning across a geographically spread organisation.
Experience of strategy and policy development is essential and the successful candidate will have experience of contributing to the broader people agenda.
Interviews are scheduled to take place on Thursday 26th January 2023.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Education and Training has responsibility for delivery of key aspects of the NHS People Plan including; growing our future workforce and new ways of working. This includes identifying strategic system wide opportunities to develop and grow our workforce working with our partners across the Devon system.
The post holder is also responsible for leading and managing the practice education and training function which is responsible for developing, implementing and performance monitoring a comprehensive range of learning and development activities for all staff to ensure that the Trust has a skilled, motivated and engaged workforce that enables the organisation of realising its aim of becoming a centre of excellence.
