An exciting opportunity to be part of DHL Global Forwarding New Zealand for a full time permanent role as Senior Business Development Manager. The position based in Auckland and reports through to the Head of Sales and Marketing.

WHAT WILL MY JOB LOOK LIKE?

Senior Business Development Manager Role will include but are not limited to the following:

• Seeks and prospects for targets to win new customers generally in the NZD$ 30k –1.5 million range net sales per annum
• Plans and manages all new customers’ business
• Builds rapport and trust with customers by being informed about customer’s business and the market
• Assesses the type and size of customer needs
• Recommends solutions based on customer needs by using industry knowledge
• Closes business connecting a customer need with a DHL solution and the value it may create for the customer
• Supports customer retention by conducting joints visits with Air and Ocean Product teams, organizing workshops inviting customers to share information on updated regulations, products and DHL service products.

YOUR PROFILE:

Key competencies and skills will include:

• Understanding of the New Zealand Logistics market.
• Broad commercial knowledge and acumen.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within the transport, logistics or freight forwarding industry (or similar service industry).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and phone etiquette
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present at board level
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Be result driven and be able to demonstrate strong communication and administration skills with a high degree of attention to detail and a professional work ethic.
• Values a diverse and inclusive work environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
