Dillon Consulting Limited Hiring For Student Planner at Yellowknife, NT Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning assignments related to community and regional land use planning
• Assist with project research and coordination related to a variety of projects for Indigenous governments
• Develop, coordinate and participate in public and agency consultation program
• Contribute to Indigenous Traditional Knowledge Studies
• Contribute to Indigenous Community Engagement
• Contribute to business development activities including proposal preparation, client meetings and presentations
• Work closely with clients, including Local Governments and First Nations, to build effective working relationships and respond effectively to requests
• Travel for work duties to communities within the Northwest Territories (possible by plane)

Qualifications:

• Completed at least the 2nd year of a post-secondary program with a focus on Planning, Human Geography, community development, or a similar field
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong writing skills; proficiency in report and plan writing
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Critical and strategic thinker
• Responsible, organized, accountable, and committed to excellence on all levels
• Versatile and adaptable with ability to work in a self-directed, multidisciplinary team setting
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to travel and work with communities’ throughout northern Canada including the Northwest Territories and Nunavut

Experience:

• No experience needed

• Schedule is based on standard workweek of 37.5 hours
• Approved overtime will be paid in compliance with local employment standards and regulations
• Rate of pay is between $21 – $23 an hour (paid bi-weekly which includes allowance for vacation pay and payment for statutory holidays)

• You agree to relocate to Yellowknife by the start of your official employment with Dillon
