Summary The Branch Chief for the Courtroom Support and Quality Control Branch is located in the Family Court Operations Division of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. This branch of the Family Court is comprised of Courtroom Support, Quality Control and the Family Court Exhibit Room. The work involves the management of staff and operations of the Courtroom Support and Quality Control Branch. Responsibilities BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Shares with the Family Court Director’s Office the responsibility for the overall effective accomplishment of the mission assigned to the branch and the Family Court. Manages the branch operations, while providing oversight of the courtroom support and quality control sections, comprised of 40+ staff members. Ensures that operations and procedures comply with requirements of all relevant statutes, regulations, rules and business practices. Ensures that business processes and procedures are clearly developed and updated for inclusion in the Family Court’s comprehensive procedural manual. Develops, evaluates, researches and completes special projects assigned by the Family Court Director’s Office. Responds to inquiries made by the public, litigants, judges and court personnel. Ensures that quality assurance functions are performed with a high level of accuracy and in a manner that is consistent with the protocols established by the Family Court. Collaborates with managers within Family Court and the D.C. Courts, as well as with other public and private agencies. Supervises and evaluates the branch supervisors’ performance. Ensures that all employees are properly trained to perform their duties. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of experience in a general office, legal office, or court office setting, including applicable experience with Family Court Law, rules and procedures, which two (2) years of experience must include courtroom experience; and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a supervisor. Graduation from the DC Court’s Management Training Program may be substituted for one (1) year of supervisory experience. You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. copy of certificate) with your application.
