As DOT’s Head of Operations you play a critical role in overseeing and optimising the operational functions of our data business. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of day-to-day operations, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution:

• Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop and execute the company’s strategic vision and operational goals.
• Drive the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions to identify opportunities and potential risks.
• Plan for the scalability and automation of data operations as the company grows.

Operational Efficiency and Quality Control:

• Develop and implement efficient operational processes and systems to streamline workflows and optimise resource allocation.
• Continuously assess and improve operational performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence across the organisation.
• Ability to assess and integrate new technologies for improved operations.
• Monitor and maintain quality standards for products and services.
• Implement quality control processes to ensure customer satisfaction. 

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute interdepartmental strategies.
• Promote effective communication and collaboration between teams to ensure smooth cross-functional operations.
• Provide guidance and support to department heads, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational performance.
• Monitor and analyse operational data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for the executive team, highlighting operational achievements and challenges.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential operational risks and develop strategies to safeguard the company.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls and compliance measures to ensure operational integrity.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and standards, ensuring the business operates in accordance with legal requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field. MBA preferred.
• Proven experience in an operational role, preferably within the data or technology industry.
• Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
• Demonstrated experience in driving operational efficiency and process improvement initiatives.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Comfortable working with technical teams and translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in risk management and compliance is highly desirable.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business priorities.
