About You and this Role:
In this role, you will serve as anElectrical TechnologistforDow’s East Texas HUB (ETH) Site Leveraged Services Teamlocated inOrange, TX. The East Texas HUB is made up of the Sabine River Operations (SRO) and the Beaumont sites and is strategically located in the heart of the Dow Gulf Coast sites. As part of these high value sites in the Dow fleet, you will have opportunity to learn and deepen your skills across several different technologies and processes.
You will provide electrical craft specific support to maintain and repair a variety of equipment types. As an Electrical Technologist, you will support reliability improvement across all Operations facilities, requiring you to have full proficiency in a range of technical skills.

The Details:
As the Electrical Technologist, you will be ready to take on the following challenges and bring value to Dow as you:
Support the people who manage and/or perform work in the field with the tools and information needed to perform their job effectively and efficiently in terms of safety, reliability, quality, and cost.
Accountable for critical work in assigned areas of responsibility. For critical equipment, ensure that work requests include engineering input on repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, welding procedures, etc., and if necessary, provide onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data.
Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluation of equipment designs to ensure it meets intended service conditions.
Ensure repair techniques, repair procedures, and equipment specific training are documented and made available.
Provide technical support for specification, identification and purchasing of needed parts.
Provide maintainability input to improvement activities.
Review spare parts list for existing equipment and works with Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) to ensure parts are identified, added and stocked in the MRO system.
Develop procedures based on Most Effective Technology (MET).
Enter quality complaints into the QSPP system.
Participate with Reliability Engineering to develop equipment maintenance strategy.
Participate in developing the maintenance budget to support the maintenance strategy.
Serve as a technical resource to the planner on work packages.
Provide input for scope of work during development of turnaround work packages.
Evaluate Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) activities and determines appropriate action.
Support technical input to support Maintenance Procedure Use Policy in procedure reviews, creation, and exemption lists. Includes creation and changes to procedures and checklists through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), Discipline Activity Specialist (DAS) and Maintenance Technologist (MT) for all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment Process Implementation Analysis (PIA).
Determine safety, health and environmental considerations and control measures to prevent contact or exposure.
Document hazard considerations in the hazards and precautions table, the control measures block, or other documentation such as the EMETL standard, PPE Grid, MSDS or equivalent.
Act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others, as required.
Demonstrate your commitment to a safe work environment by working safely and complying with environmental, health and safety standards.

Qualifications – Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
10 or more years of Electrical field experience in an industrial setting.
Working knowledge of process instrumentation, motors, electrical circuits, and electrical distribution.
Must be willing to work weekends, and holidays, when required.
Must be willing to work overtime when required.
Must have valid US Driver’s License.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills – An expanded list of qualifications that are “nice to have”, but not essential
Detailed knowledge of Breakers, Switchgear and VFD’s
An Associate degree or higher in Electrical or Instrumentation.
Experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of reciprocating electrical and instrumentation systems.
NCCER Certification.
Ability to use and read diagnostic tools.
SAP experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, with ability to learn new systems quickly.
Physical Requirements:

Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Essential functions of this position may require use of safety equipment with weight limit thresholds that include the total of the individual’s weight plus any other tools/items carried to tools and other items and materials. Example: Safety equipment rated for a maximum weight limit of 300 total pounds.
