DroneShield is seeking a Data Engineer with relevant experience to join the team in Sydney, Australia

The position will report to Vice President of Embedded Systems

The role is centred around assisting DroneShield to develop and improve its machine learning based technology, traditional algorithm development and data strategy.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations

• Develop and maintain MLOPs data pipelines for capturing and managing data from global devices
• Develop scalable software modules to support data driven backend applications using C++/Python
• Develop processes to manage and track training data sets, machine learning models, and metrics
• Manage SQL and NoSQL databases for analytics and data storage
• Leverage cloud technologies around AWS such as S3 / RDS
• Applicants with a keen interest in data science, machine learning and algorithms are favourable

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of professional experience in roles such as software engineer, data engineer, data scientist.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and experience with SQL
• Ability to design, develop and maintain backend software architectures
• Familiarity with microservices architectures
• Proficiency in usage of design patterns and test-driven development
• Ability to translate business logic and objectives into briefs, executing on those ideas by generating well-functioning analytical models
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with engineers from non-software / data science backgrounds
