We are seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to assist continuously in ensuring demand and supply of raw materials meet our customer’s needs by performing efficient inventory and production planning as well as the appropriate replenishment responsibilities.
This role will become part of the Senior Operations Teams and will be supporting the Production, Warehouse, Purchasing and the Business Managers for Human Nutrition and Health (HNH) Oceania & Animal Nutrition and Health (ANH).
The Challenge
The main responsibilities of this role are, but not limited to;
- Inventory Planning and replenishment of raw and packaging materials to meet customer deadlines & support smooth production without disruptions.
- Run monthly heuristic report in IBP to explode the premix forecast (BOM Expansion) into raw material demand to provide a component forecast of NZ consumption.
- Compile and update raw materials forecasts to Regional Demand Planning Executive team to facilitate demand and supply planning for NZ consumption.
- Management of inventory for 3rd party raw materials and finished products in NZ, within the Auckland facility as well as external warehousing.
- Daily monitoring of MRP in SAP system to determine the raw materials required for production, including some packaging materials from overseas as well as to capture changes in IBP.
- Liaise with departments such as purchasing, formulations and production, QC, sales or account managers regarding various matters and to solve relevant issues.
- Produce various reports such as on slow moving items, aged stock/ expired materials, write off report, inventory, forecast accuracy, mass balancing, using the appropriate program or software.
- Follow and ensure compliance of SHE work practices and behaviors by for example incidents and injuries are reporting and investigated promptly and accurately.
- Perform User Acceptance Tests as required for customized SAP reports.
- Performance Production Planning and Purchaser responsibilities as per required.
- Provide necessary assistance in MRP Planning or any other areas involving inventory management for the Demand/ Supply Planners within APAC as required.
- Provide leadership, management, mentorship and general support to up to 3 direct reports.
The Ideal
In order to be considered for this role, you must;
- At least 8 years of experience in material planning preferably in the industry of ingredient supplier, food or supplement manufacturer (well versed with expiry control).
- Be well versed with inventory planning/ supply chain terms, activities and processes
- Have experience working with SAP (Production planning, material management modules – DSM uses P45, P43,Q 26) MRP functions and APO (advance planning & optimization module), SAP IBP (integrated business planning).
- It would be nice if you have some qualifications in supply chain management or logistics but if you can demonstrate it through your knowledge then it is not necessary.
- Have high level knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Have strong verbal and communication skills, with proven ability to influence, negotiate, strategize and make quick, sound decisions
- Be open minded, adaptable, and be driven to go above and beyond in their responsibilities
- Must have full working rights in New Zealand
