Duck Creek is looking to expand its approach to building a robust internal talent pipeline. Our customers expect deep product and industry knowledge, it’s been increasingly important to train-up and prepare our Ducks with skillsets to fill essential roles at DCT out in the market. WHAT WE WILL CALL THIS POSITION: Junior Associate Software Engineer
What You’ll Do
The Junior Associate Software Engineer is responsible to design, code, and/or configure solutions for low complexity in an Agile-based team environment, as well as debugging and resolving low to moderate software bugs or issues.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, codes, and/or configures solutions for low complexity Agile stories with close direction from a more senior software engineer.
- Debugs and resolves low to moderate complexity software bugs or issues, with close direction from more senior software engineers, and finds the real root cause and provides a fix without collateral damage.
- Writes automated unit and integration-level tests with direction from other team members.
- Follows development standards and effectively demonstrates technical solutions to other software engineers in code reviews.
- Performs basic source code management tasks at the direction of more senior software engineers.
- Performs other related duties and activities as required.
What You’ve Done
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field of study; related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.
- Total Work Experience: No experience required. Previous internships preferred.
- No years of Experience/minimal
- Industry certificate bootcamp experiences (preferred if indirect educational background)
- Understand object-oriented design and implementation in Java or .NET or Python
- Exposure to XML/JSON and front-end development (e.g., JavaScript, HTML5) or equivalent
- Ability to manage deadlines, communicate in a team, and operate independently with guidance.
- Bonus: exposure to cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

- Location: Candidate must reside in South Carolina and be able to have a hybrid work schedule with the office in Columbia, SC
- Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location. This position does not sponsor employment-based visa.
