Job Description:

An Application Architect architects custom solutions of projects or operational scope. The responsibilities of an Applications Architect also includes working with developers to ensure quality deliverables, mentoring junior level staff, and identifying issues that affect product delivery.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Application Architect to oversee the implementation of architectures of project scope. To be successful as an Application Architect, you should exhibit extensive application development knowledge and experience in evaluating business needs. He or she should also possess good analytical skills with the ability to anticipate issues and frame remedial actions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• To architect custom solutions and oversee the architecture implementation of project or operational scope.
• To perform requirement analysis and oversee the implementation of architectures of project scope
• To customize reusable solutions of project and program or operational scope. Design software applications in accordance to the agreed requirement specifications, system limitations and industry standards.
• To assess technical impact of multiple technologies/strategies.
• To identify and address technical or operational risks.
• Using coding standards and best practices to ensure quality deliverables.
• Mentor junior application developers which include reviewing their work with feedback for improvement (if applicable).
• Provide advice / support troubleshooting, resolving system issues and identifying enhancement opportunities.
• Contribute as a team member to an operational, integration or application architecture requirements, design, implementation, or on-going operations deliverables.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of industry experience.
• Have 5 or more years of experience writing code using languages such as (but not limited to) J2EE, Java, PL/SQL.
• Have hands-on experience with Java frameworks such as Struts, Spring, Hibernate, etc.
• Have experience with design and development of SOAP, Restful web services.
• Extensive experience in aligning application development with business needs.
• Have experience of three or more full SDLC for web application projects.
• Advanced understanding of modern software development methodologies.
• Advanced understanding of Software Testing methodologies, scripting and tools.
• Advanced understanding of RDBMS databases such as Oracle, Oracle Golden Gate, Data Lake, DB2 etc.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team, independently and with client.
• Singapore citizen applicants only

Good to have:

• Experience in Application Servers like WebSphere will be an advantage
• Experience in Public Sector implementation is an advantage.
